Another writer on this site writes that "Eeli watch" will be joining the Preds when playoffs end for him in the KHL.

why bring Eeli Tolvanen in to the fold he is unproven at the NHL level and why mess with the chemistry we have..

In GMDP, I trust

He is betting large by burning a year of Tolvanen's entry contract.

I wondered the same about #38 when GMDP paid a high price, gotta admit I like what he brings to our game.

Doesn't he have to play nine games before burning a year? If that's the case it's unlikely Preds will allow it to get to that point.

I'd guess that barring some sort of catastrophic team performance meltdown or injury crisis to a lot of our players, he plays one or two games at end of reg season and then is mostly relegated to sitting back as post-season begins to see how the team performs in the playoffs, playing a few games as decided by the coaches.

Tolvanen is not being brought here to be some sort of savior or magic bullet (which he is not at this point of his career). Rather it's to get him acclimated to everything - the players, the organization, the smaller ice, the NHL pace and level of skill (which is far superior to that of the KHL), the city, etc., etc. Just having him here for the NHL post-season is huge insofar as growing his future potential towards becoming a world-class NHL player.
